BT Industries 6954U Utility Drop Ship

€0.00

Specialization is an important aspect of life on the frontiers of space. As such, none of the mainline BT SPACE FORCE ships were suited to act as dedicated troop transport, cargo container carriers, or even lift smaller vehicles. However, some engineers over at BT Industries noted the proven airframe of the space superiority fighter could be modified into a utility dropship to infill BT troops or deliver supplies. This also would allow interchangeability with components between the two ships, yet be distinct in their own right. Thus the Type 6954U Utility Drop Ship was developed.

The main armored hold is capable of carrying eight fully-equipped BT troopers as well as two small rovers (the same type as the original design itself). The Utility Drop Ship also features three suspension lines to allow it to conduct heavy lift and move small ground vehicles in and out of an area. The key feature is the pivoting vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) thrusters on the side. The airframe itself was elongated and extended vertically to allow additional storage of fuel for hovering in place.

As this is a Utility Drop Ship, this version is lightly armed with one blaster cannon in the main command module, as with its cousin, the Space superiority fighter version. Unlike its fighter cousin, this version has additional armor underneath the cockpit and a new ejection seat should the ship become doomed.

This ship is FTL capable and some pilots have successfully performed "mini-jumps" from the atmosphere into low atmosphere to avoid air defense systems. Not for the faint-hearted.
